HUMANITARIAN ORGANIZATION ISKRA

A WORD ABOUT US

Community Service

Here at Humanitarian Organization Iskra, we are committed to a single goal; we strive to make everyday life obstacle free as much as possible for persons with cerebral palsy and their families. Explore our website to learn more about all that we’re doing to make a change. We are a private, non-profit organization dedicated to finding innovative ways to help those in need overcome challenges, specifically disabled children and adults. Our focus is on improving the quality of life for children and adults with cerebral palsy and their immediate family.

WHAT WE DO

One at a Time

We are dedicated to supporting individuals through our various initiatives. One of our most successful programs up until now, has been establishing a program with packages of basic food and hygienic supplies on a quarterly basis for economically disadvantaged families with a member that has a cerebral palsy. For more information, please contact us through email or phone.

Assistive Technology for Mobility

With our mission always in mind, we work tirelessly to improve the lives of individuals with CP, especially those that have the most severe types. This is why we want to obtain funds to pursue this project and offer low cost renting services for assistive technologies like lifts for at home use, ramps and adjusted door to door transport. Reinforcing our Commitment - Became a part of the WORLD CP DAY movement

With this initiative of celebrating the 6th of October, HO Iskra wanted to became a part of the global network of organizations that work in this area and celebrate this day in various ways. By holding an essay contest in honor of the 6th, our goal was to promote the importance for practical advancement of human and civil rights for every person with CP, not just by celebrating that one day in the year, but by also leaving a legacy with the collection of essays ,,I am here” this day inspired, which could become a catalyst for actual, long term change.
We hoped to give people with cerebral palsy and their families a voice by entering our competition, and raise awareness among the general population by furthering their mutual social contact therefore introducing greater integration in society for people with CP.

Due to lack of funds, the project wasn't realized in 2017, but we hope to make it happen next 6th of October in 2018.
